There are times when no matter how zen you try to be life just smacks you in the face.
No amount of breathing is going to calm you down.
I’m talking about big adrenaline inducing, stomach-churning stress, like getting into a car accident, just losing your job, or public speaking.
Even in these high stress situations there’s one natural stress reliever I’ve used that soothes my nerves immediately every single time.
So what is my little wonder potion?
When panic hits, I use Bach Rescue Remedy. This little glass bottle contains the diluted essence of 5 flowers, star of bethlehem, rock rose, cherry plum, impatiens, and clematis. You only need four drops under the tongue, but it really does work!
According to the Bach website

I started using Rescue Remedy a few years ago during a really tough phase in my life. I was skeptical at first but after using it as needed for several years I’ve become completely devoted to the product.

How’s this for impressive…
Recently I was subpoenaed to testify as a star witness in a matter that I wanted nothing to do with. For three grueling hours I was asked tons of questions and then cross-examined by a less than admirable character. The whole time I had my bottle on the table and was administering drops as needed.
At one point during a break the attorney mentioned how calm I seemed considering that I didn’t want to be there. I told him about my anti-stress potion; he was so impressed he said he was going to offer it to all his clients. Even the court reporter wanted some!
The only way I can describe it is like a warm blanket on your nervous system (at least for me).
Within seconds of taking it the nerves are soothed, and you suddenly feel calm (well as far as your nervous system is concerned).
I find it soothes me enough to let my brain think through the situation.
So if you have a tough exam, have a public speaking event, get into a crash, or any other nerve-fraying ordeal take a few drops and breathe.
One tip, make sure to add the drops beneath your tongue, for some reason adding them t the top doesn’t work quite as well.
